also with body weight exercises, it also develops flexibility, do you think gymnasts are able to do back flips because of lower back weight lifting exercises or is it because of bodyweight exercises like the back bridge etc.?

"Gymnastic strength". What does that even mean? Gymnastic movements are mainly technique, leverage & isometric strength. They offer very little in terms of absolute strength (beyond beginners) and hypertrophy. Are they ok to supplement with? Sure. Are they going to provide a base for strength or hypertrophy training beyond the beginner stage? No.

I tend to stay sway from t-nation. In any case, from what I skimmed the article talks about olympic level athletes which is like comparing training styles with a pro bodybuilder. (Hint: you arent an élite athlète and shouldnt train like one)
