Not sure how successful this will be, but basically this is a thread where you can ask me anything. Any training/diet/basketball/etc. questions you have I will answer to the best ability. A little about me.. Currently studying Health, Wellness & Fitness (will specialize in nutrition) NCCP Level 1 basketball coaching certified CPR/Emergency First Aid certified Trained with Ganon Baker, Micah Lancaster, David Johnson, Damin Altizer & more. I'm also a part-time referee, and run monthly skill clinics and workouts as a part of my training business FrameWORK Basketball. Ok, so i have dre baldwins hoophandbooks 4 of them (Defense,BallHandling,Shooting, Conditioning) ok so, all of these programs except for conditioning have 7 day programs of INTENSE workouts. so i want to know how to space them out, should i do them week by week for example one week ballhandling the next week shooting, and then the next week defense and then cycle those weeks over and over.. Would that work out or will my skills not develop as quickly? Should I put them all in one week? 2 of each workout a week? Just wondering what would be the most effective.

Oh and ive done a bit of editing myself and tip to make your videos look better, IF you use SONY VEGAS right click on the video in your timeline and disable resample, that will get rid of that motion blurry look.

Do you still drift to the side when you shoot. Also how old are you? Looking kinda young. I might start doing these once I get my new phone, dont money to be spending on cameras lol

Yea, thanks man. That is about, 2-3 hour workout. How long should I follow this, just like until I start getting to a weight room during the summer. I dont know if that will affect me. Should I do weight lifting earl yin the morning, waiting a few hours then hit the courts orrrr...?

2-3 hours is a long time if you're working out consistently. I'd aim for 2, maybe 2 hours and a half max. How long you follow your program is up to you, when you feel you've mastered all the drills and you're no longer making progress, move on.
The weightroom will definitely affect you, how much depends on how much training experience you have. If you're just a beginner, expect your recovery from workouts to take a large hit the first couple weeks.
As for how to schedule lifting/court work, the most optimal way to separate them is probably 6-8 hours apart, but most people don't have the time to be training all day. I've tried both lifting first, skill second and vice versa and I prefer weights first. I usually do something like 45 minutes in the weightroom, then hit the court for 1-2 hours. What matters most is that you get both workouts DONE. Don't stress on when/what comes first. Just get both done.

I also have no clue how to go to the weight room during school days because I have to leave my house @ 7:20 in order to get there on time. The gym is about 5 minutes away. and I would about 45 min workouts. So that is 65 minutes and I would have to get up at like 5:00 and I cant go after school because theres like 100 people in theres all machines hogged.

if u have to leave your house at 7:20 and your spending 45 min. in the weight room and 10 min. getting to the weight room and back, how do u have to wake up at 5?

All of this, just to join my crappy high school team oh well and least ill be considered the best player on the team by tryouts. I prob wont get any starting time since the starting PG literally never gets subbed out so yea... I wonder why we lost so much. Our record was 1-14. What the heck.

I need help designing a program for strength. What I have at my gym, dumbbells 5-100 lbs, a vertica bench press, pull down, chin up bar, bench, leg press machine, elliptical, stability balls, and treadmills.

Include push-up variations, chinups/pullups, core work, lunges, squats, etc.

Hmm.. skill work will be a big part of basketball conditioning, if you're at that level. If you're just learning, then your skill workout will be less of a conditioner. (Learning a new skill is rarely taxing on the aerobic system). So first you need to decide how much your basketball is contributing to your conditioning, and whether you should begin by stepping it up on the court first.
Next, if you need extra conditioning work, you need to make sure it's basketball-specific. HIIT can work well here.. as well there are tons and tons of sport-specific conditioners you can do on grass, in the sand, in the pool, etc. Court drills -> Beach drills -> Field drills ->
To be honest, you should be in superb shape year-round. You can peak at the start of the season sure, but the best players are in the best shape, period.

There is no ideal weight. You should be at an ideal body-fat % and an ideal muscle mass %. Depends heavily on your goals.
