Had the worst day ever today, I was playing like ive never touched a basketball in my life. I was playing a full court pickup game, serious, even for a pickup game, but anyways I was just doing the worst. I shot back to back airballs, got scared to make a layup on a fast break and turned it over, had about 5 turnovers. I was 1 for 20. I was just playing so scared because of the pressure. But if im playing with my friends everything just comes so easy, moves, I make shots, nice passes, and I just feel comfortable. I just messed up today and costed us the game TWICE, the last game some kid hit a crossover stepback in my face to win the game, which just brought my confidence down so damn much. My question from all this is, HOW DO I STOP PLAYING SCARED! I KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS BETTER THAN MOST OF THE GUYS ON THE COURT! Just gets me mad how good I can be, but when I step on the court I freeze up sometimes. Don't want to dribble because I think it will get taken which it will most likely not because I have above average handles, and hesitate to shoot or drive sometimes because it might get SWATTED.

the work you put in gives you the confidence. You were playing scared cause they were new people and you were getting out of your comfort zone.
take a deep breath lol
if you think they are going to block you pump fake then drive.
stick to simple moves

Lol I used to have that problem. Ok listen, everyone makes mistakes...BIG mistakes. Chris webber calling a timeout costing the fab five their championship. Danilo Galiinari missing an open game winning layup. Patrick Ewing missing a fast break layup for the championship. Just stay loose and if your that scared then pass the ball an move around. Play some defense to make up for your offensive troubles
